Our Speakers:
We have a great line up including:
Geoff Cloake |
"The Extreme Difference" – Geoff has wide photographic interests, but it is New Zealand's diverse landforms that compel him most as he regularly journeys out from his Timaru home to capture tremendous landscape images. With one eye constantly on weather and atmospheric conditions, he is well based to rapidly respond to ever-changing shows of light, which make every image unique. |
Bret Lucas |
"The Magic of Stop Motion Video" – Bret is a professional photographer and owner of Fstop Studios. His immaculate lighting skills have recently been on show at the PSNZ National convention, but Bret has also been exploring the fascinating world of stop motion video with Yolanda Bartram (body paint artist) and in this presentation will explain the process and difficulties he overcame. |
Cory Scott |
"Wet & Wild" – Cory has spent the last 13 years as New Zealand's only full time surf photographer. In this presentation he talks us through his journey to becoming a top sports photographer and winner of the Qantas Media Winner Best Single Sports Photo and Best Sports Portfolio Awards in 2009. He'll show us his award winning international surf photography complete with his stories of the trials, patience, and outside-the-box thinking and planning required to capture them. When not shooting surfing images Cory likes to keep his eye and reactions fresh, and he will also show images he's captured of other sports and the natural environment around him in that quest. |
Graham Dainty FPSNZ |
"Wilderness Photography" – Graham is currently head of the PSNZ Honours Board and a Landscape photographer from Te Anau, right on the edge of Fiordland National Park. Join him for a journey through this southern wilderness that so inspires and satisfies his love of the land. Along with his inspiring images and informative discussion about where he goes to making his images in and around Fiordland, Graham will also share tips and tricks and talk about how he goes about capturing his images. |
Richard Spranger |
Richard is a hard working local professional sports photographer spending most of his time in the Franklin area photographing sports action and teams, but when time allows he likes nothing better than to head for the hills to capture memorable New Zealand landscape and wildlife images. “Spotlight on Sports” – In this presentation, Richard treats us to his sports images and the wonderful stories behind them. They include images from his last few years of sports photography both for himself and also for Counties Manukau Rugby Union, local newspapers and photographic libraries. “Close to Home” – Richard shows us his collection of local images taken from within the boundaries of one property at Bombay, showing that you don’t always have to travel far and wide to capture good photos. They can be right on your back doorstep. |

He will then demonstrate how relatively inexpensive equipment can be used to produce very high quality images allowing simple but extreme possibilities using a combination of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. |
